Recreational Classes
Parent and Child – We operate parent and child classes for children from walking to 3 years old before going up to one of our independent pre-school classes. Parents attend the class with their child and are guided through the class with one of our qualified coaches. The aim of the class is to give the children and parents an enjoyable experience and introduction to gymnastics. We have a selection of age appropriate apparatus that will help to develop each child’s motor skills and at the same time be a captivating and enjoyable experience for all involved, whilst maintaining a structured learning environment.
Pre-School Classes – The Club operates classes through its “Early Gym” section for 3 years old to school age, with the aim of developing each gymnasts balance, co-ordination and action skills. The aim of the classes is to give the children an experience of gymnastics in a structured environment. A selection of Mini Gymnastics Equipment has been purchased, this includes Mini Bar, Low Beam, Mini Trampoline, Mini Vault set up and Slope, all with associated matting. Various rewards are offered to encourage each child to take part to the best of their ability.
Infant and Junior Classes – The Infant (school age to 7 years) and Junior (7 to 10 years) classes adopt a similar format where after warming up, gymnasts work on floor skills and then are split into groups and rotate around the apparatus. The classes give all participants the opportunity to achieve and raise their self-esteem and take part in a disciplined (due to the hazards some of the equipment may present), safe and fun environment. Many gymnastics skills are taught and lessons are planned so that skills are built upon session by session.
Senior Classes – Our Senior classes (10-18 years) are independent classes where gymnasts are required to be self-motivated with the ability to work on their own. This means they can spend the whole session working on skills which they have chosen to work on.
